All of our x-rays are digital, even the panoramic x-ray. Our x-ray system is a computerized imaging system that utilizes an electronic sensor instead of x-ray film. The sensors produce sharp and clear images that appear almost instantly on a computer screen. This system uses high performance technology that is environmentally friendly, reduces exposure to radiation (uses 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays), and allows more chair-side time with patients. By using this technology, we can instantly display a large screen x-ray which allows Dr. Lykins to involve her patients in the diagnosis and treatment planning process in ways that are not possible with film x-rays. Our panoramic x-rays offer patients a complete detailed image of the mouth.
